Hitron Introduces NOVA2301 10G Fiber ONT for Flexible XGS-PON Deployments

New 10G ONT automatically detects and configures for major OLT platforms while Hitron ProInstall and HitronCloud simplify deployment, troubleshooting & support

ATLANTA, GA, UNITED STATES, September 29, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Today at SCTE TechExpo26 in Atlanta, Hitron Technologies Americas announced the NOVA2301, a new 10G optical network terminal (ONT) designed to give service providers greater flexibility when deploying XG-PON and XGS-PON fiber networks.

The NOVA2301 expands Hitron’s fiber portfolio with a streamlined indoor ONT designed specifically for operators that do not require EPON, DPoE or integrated voice capabilities. With a 10 Gigabit Ethernet interface and support for XG-PON and XGS-PON, the NOVA2301 provides a straightforward 10G fiber endpoint for residential deployments.

A key feature of the NOVA2301 is its ability to automatically detect the OLT platform during boot and configure itself to interoperate with major OLT vendors. Hardware and firmware work together to identify the platform and apply the appropriate profile, eliminating the need to pre-stage the ONT with a vendor-specific image.

For operators managing multiple OLT vendors, this can simplify qualification and inventory by reducing the need for separate ONT SKUs by OLT or region. It also gives operators greater freedom to evolve their access networks without creating unnecessary CPE dependencies.

The NOVA2301 is also supported by Hitron ProInstall, giving field technicians greater visibility during installation. By connecting a laptop directly to the ONT via Ethernet, technicians can see real-time ONT status, including the boot-up and activation sequence, optical TX/RX levels and signal condition, as well as traffic and service information. This helps technicians identify installation issues while they are still on site, improve first-time-right outcomes and reduce unnecessary no-fault-found returns.

Once deployed, HitronCloud extends that visibility beyond installation, helping service providers monitor connection quality, troubleshoot service issues and better understand the subscriber experience. Together, NOVA2301, Hitron ProInstall and HitronCloud give operators greater visibility from initial activation through ongoing service and support.

The NOVA2301 can also be paired with a separate Wi-Fi router, including Hitron’s ARIA Wi-Fi 7 portfolio, giving operators the flexibility to deploy fiber access and Wi-Fi as independent layers. This two-box architecture allows operators to select the Wi-Fi configuration and managed Wi-Fi platform that best fits their strategy while evolving the ONT and Wi-Fi layers independently.
